Walker papers. 1973-1974.

Correspondence, memoranda, telephone logs, travel information, budget hearings, personnel matters and newsletters. Staff assistants helped him set his goals and objectives in a special report, "The NPS -- a prospectus for the next ten years," February 1973. His personal secretary, Marsha C. Griswold, and assistant, Doug Blaser, handled major assignments in the Director's office. In his second annual report, December 31, 1974, Walker summarizes the state of the parks and major events of 1974. He resigned September 9, 1974, effective January 1, 1975.
